23. Vancouver – 17 June 2012
As they like to say here, this is Vancouver USA.
I flew to Portland, Oregon the day before the race, and then drove up to Vancouver. It is only a short drive from there.
I found a cool coffee place downtown near my hotel, they roasted their own beans, a bit trendster, but good coffee. The race started and ended near the downtown square, which has a neat clock tower – it has sculptured salmon “swimming” up the tower.
The race was low key and scenic, good local event, with some nice views of the Columbia River.
