32. Birmingham – 18 November 2012

I had to travel to Birmingham twice to finish Alabama. First time, I overslept and missed the start. Second time, success!

I had never been to Alabama before heading there to run. I was pleasantly surprised – Birmingham is a nice enough place, some rough edges, but it had some good upscale shopping centers and more restaurants than I was expecting.

I did notice that the car license plates all have “Sweet Home Alabama” on them. I guess that Lynyrd Skynyrd song must be the state anthem or something.
