31. Norfolk – 11 November 2012

Norfolk is the home of the National Maritime Center, and there is a big battleship there (the USS Wisconsin). I did not get a chance to go for the battleship tour, but saw the big ship and port during the run.

Nice place to visit, flew in to Washington DC and drove down from there. Weather was good, a bit cool in the morning when the run started, but it was nice running weather.

Lots of patriotic flags and banners around the finish line, in keeping with the race organizer’s support for Veterans. Race is held every year on Veteran’s Day (Armistice Day as it is known elsewhere). Finished to a minute of silence (the 11th minute of the 11 hour of the 11th month).
